The Short Version

Randy Sosin is an American filmmaker, music video commissioner, & entertainment industry veteran based in Los Angeles.

 

He began his career at The End Productions and A&M Records before spending eight years at Interscope Records overseeing visual content for Eminem, Dr Dre, 50 Cent, Marilyn Manson, Audioslave, Feist, Queens of the Stone Age, and dozens of others — winning back-to-back MTV Video of the Year awards in 2002 and 2003 for "Lady Marmalade" and Eminem's "Without Me." He produced the Showtime series Interscope Presents: The Next Episode, named one of Entertainment Weekly's Top 10 Television Series of the year, and the feature concert film Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. He also executive produced Live!, starring Eva Mendes, which premiered at Tribeca in 2007.

 

From 2010 to 2012 he served as Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Programming at MTV. He then joined Insomniac/Live Nation as SVP of Visual Content, where he built the visual identity of the Electric Daisy Carnival and executive produced its annual livestream from 2013 to 2017, drawing over 10 million viewers annually across broadcast partners including Live Nation, 7Up, and Red Bull TV.

 

He subsequently served as Chief Content Officer at The X, North America for six years, working with major brands at the intersection of music, culture, and digital content, including AB/InBev and Disco Presents.

 

He is the host of The Commissioner, a podcast about the golden age of music video, and curates RadioRandy, a 24/7 vinyl-only internet radio station. He is actively developing new platforms and models for artist ownership and monetization in the post-streaming era.

He is based in Los Angeles, California.
